Children's Crafts for Adults

Learn so that you can teach a whole host of crafts for children. We will work on several different crafts a day. All materials provided. This class is Ideal for teachers or others who home school or work with children. We will do Batik, Silk Painting, Tie Dye, Candle Making, Leather Tooling and more!
Watercolor for the Absolute Beginner

Intermediate Watercolor – Realism

Want to learn how the pros paint old rusty things, glass, fur, tree bark and more. This is the class for you. You will need your own watercolor supplies and a sheet of 140 lb Arches rough paper
Silk Painting

Brink a Sack Lunch Create a hand painted silk scarf & hanging wall piece using silk dyes. Materials are provided. Additional classes can be scheduled if needed.
Conversational Spanish

Batik Techniques

The Short Story: Why We Love Them, How We Learn From Them

By definition the short story is a fictional prose narrative read comfortable in a single sitting. This popular prose genre has won the attention and praise of the literary world and casual reader alike. Spend some time reading and discussing short stories, considering why the genre has maintained its popularity, and what we learn from reading these works. We will read both 19th century and contemporary American authors from Irving, Hawthorne, and Poe, to Carver, Cisneros, Erdrich and Tan . Call for Materials needed.

Beyond Cross Stitching: The Next Step sampler
Instructor: Dakota Rogers

This small design is stitched on 25 count white Dublin linen using a variegated cotton thread and some pearl cotton. Cross Stitching experience helpful. Call for Materials needed.
Hat Decorating:

Get a jump start on making hats for HATS OFF TO SEARCH & RESCUE. Although the exhibit/auction will be in December, now is the time to begin making the hats you will donate. Bring a clean hat to decorate and a small pair of scissors. If you have any decorating items you would like to share, bring those also. This class is no charge. You will learn to see different pencil variations, how to use tortillons, how to shade, and how to hold the pencil and to put shapes together. All classes will learn basic shapes, a value scale, now to make a complete drawing. Some supplies will be provided the first class only, a supply list will be given at that time.
Bear Fetish: An Original Needlepoint Canvas Design
Instructor: Dakota Rogers
Wednesday: October 6th – Cost: members no cost for class, $40 for non-members – Partial Kit $30 -- Time: 1– 4pm Minimum 3
Native Americans used fetishes to petition the spirits for favors. This bear of strength uses pearl cotton and Metallic braid on 24 count white Congress cloth to create a similar design. It is adorned with beads and charms of the students choosing. Some stitching experience required. Call for Materials needed.
Blueberry Bunny: An Original Blackwork Design
Instructor: Dakota Rogers
Saturday: November 13th – Cost: members no cost for class, $40 for non-members – Partial Kit $20 -- Time: 1– 4pm Minimum 3
This is a small blackwork design that explores simple ways to shade this technique. It is stitched with a metallic braid and cotton floss on 24 count Congress clothe. Some cross stitching experience is helpful. Call for Material needed.
