Welcome
to the Fremont Center for the Arts Permanent Collection
Page.
Our Permanent Collection highlights the role of
preservation.
Throughout
its history the FCA has collected, preserved, exhibited and
interpreted art. Today, its permanent collection contains
more than 150 pieces. The importance of the Art
Center's preservation role is emphasized by the ongoing
activities of the Center's Permanent Collection Committee
and funds that have been donated and dedicated to the
preservation and expansion of this Permanent
Collection.
Through
its collections and exhibitions, the FCA acknowledges the
local artist community, which is the constituency upon which
it was founded. The Art Center's collections include
the work of many local and regional artists, as a means of
both recognizing their importance to the community and
helping to maintain the cultural history of the Royal Gorge
area.
Like all
art centers, the FCA is always seeking to expand its
collections. If you have, or know of, any items that
may be of interest, please don't hesitate to contact
Executive Director Mary Hammer at: mhammer@fremontarts.org.
In the
future you will be able to explore a number of works of art
on this website that have been chosen from the
Collection. You will also be able to use a search
feature to obtain descriptive information on the works in
the Collection and the artists represented.
Stop in at the
FCA to learn more about the impressive gathering of art we
have collected.
