A Beginner’s Introduction to Soft Pastel Landscape Painting

In this three-hour workshop students learn how to paint a snowy landscape while exploring soft pastels, pastel papers, and basic techniques for painting with this wonderful and forgiving medium.  All painting materials are provided. Lisa walks you through a step-by-step demonstration. Students learn about:

• Soft pastel types, pastel safety, pastel paper
  surfaces, and fun under-painting techniques to
   give added dimension to your paintings

• Basic composition, values, and value shapes; and
  using Notans and value sketches to help you plan
  your paintings.
