Fremont Center for the Arts proudly presents:
Art in Isolation: Creating Space
August 1st through August 29th, 2025
About the Show
For the 8th year in a row and in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Creative Arts Platform (CAP), the Fremont Center for the Arts is proud to exhibit our latest prison art series, Art in Isolation: Creating Space. Each piece in this year's exhibit represents an artist's unique journey to carve out a mental, emotional, and sometimes even physical space for beauty and meaning within the structured environment of incarceration. Through their work, these artists invite us to consider the power of the human spirit to transcend adversity and find freedom in the act of making.
We hope this exhibition sparks reflection on the universal desire for self-expression and highlights the critical importance of providing avenues for creative growth, especially within correctional facilities.
The artwork for sale was created this past year by inmates at Administrative Maximum Penitentiary (ADX Supermax) at FCC Florence. Due to the nature of security, all participating inmates’ names have been removed from public view.
