Nameplate Necklaces

Join us for a creative evening of jewelry making at Fremont Center for the Arts! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the art of hand stamping to create two custom nameplate necklaces—one in copper and one in sterling silver. Each piece will be finished with either a cord or chain, ready to wear home.
No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity! By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a new skill and two beautiful, personalized necklaces.
All materials are included.

Beginner Oil Painting Course
with David Billesbach
Discover the expressive possibilities of oil painting in this introductory course led by artist David Billesbach. Designed for beginners, this class focuses on core painting principles such as value, tone, pattern, and style—all while encouraging students to create with emotion and intensity. Through a variety of guided projects and observational exercises, students will gain a solid foundation in oil painting techniques while developing their own artistic voice.
Week One: Clouds – A Study in Shades
Work in black and white to capture the shapes and depth of clouds. We’ll study form and light while painting outdoors or from photos.
Week Two: Flowers – A Study in Tone and Value
Use a full tonal range to build contrast and dimension in floral compositions. Learn how light and shadow create depth and interest.
Week Three: Reflected Waters – A Study in Pattern and Motion
Observe and recreate the movement of water through brushwork and rhythm. Explore reflection, abstraction, and motion on the canvas.
Week Four: Style – An Exploration of Intensity
Apply everything learned to create a final painting in your own style. Choose your subject and composition to express a new, vivid reality.

Led by Arts Director India Beach, this guided session teaches you how to draw intricate Zentangle patterns over vibrant alcohol ink backgrounds on smooth Yupo paper. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this class offers a peaceful way to unwind and express yourself.

Supply Info:
· Pencils and drawing materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own if they have preferred tools.
· Please bring a sketchbook that is at least 11x14 inches with a minimum paper weight of 60 lbs (50 sheets minimum). We recommend Strathmore brand! This sketchbook is to record all instruction notes and sketches.
· If you would like to purchase a sketchbook from FCA, there will be an additional material charge of $25, and you must reach out by June 4th to secure a sketchbook.
Drawing 101
Fundamentals in Graphite (4-Week Course)

Join Arts Director India Beach for a foundational course in graphite drawing. Whether you're new to drawing or looking to refresh your skills, this four-week course will walk you through the essentials of working with graphite.
Students will begin by learning about graphite pencil grades, paper types and weights, and how these tools affect your final work. From there, you'll explore the value scale and techniques for smooth shading, practice the basics of linear perspective, and finish the course with an introduction to human facial anatomy.
This class is designed to build confidence and skill for beginners. Join us for a 4-week course of relaxing yet educational evenings!
